Spine care

Our spine specialists are experienced in treating a wide range of back and neck conditions. From chronic back pain to spinal disorders, like scoliosis, we provide full-service spine care to diagnose and treat our patients.

Joint replacement surgery

Twin Cities Hospital offers Joint Venture, our joint replacement program. We offer joint replacement surgery, including total and partial hip and knee replacements, to remove damaged or diseased joints and replace them with artificial joints.

Through joint replacement surgery, we can reduce our patients' pain and help improve their functionality and mobility.

Anterior hip replacement

We are dedicated to providing advanced hip replacement surgery. We use the anterior approach for hip replacement, which can offer patients many benefits, including:

  • Improved quality of life
  • Increased leg strength
  • Reduced pain
  • Shorter recovery times

Preoperative joint replacement education

Our Joint Venture program begins before the patient's joint replacement surgery takes place. We offer patients a preoperative educational class led by a nurse certified in orthopedics.

Our class allows patients to prepare for surgery and gain knowledge regarding the care they will receive during their hospital stay. We believe patients who are better informed and are active participants in their care can have better surgical outcomes.

Patients can expect the following from our joint replacement class:

  • An introduction to our orthopedic care team
  • An opportunity to ask any questions and ease anxieties related to the upcoming surgery
  • An overview of what to expect before, during and after surgery
  • A discharge planner teaches patients about home recovery, the types of special equipment needed and how to manage health conditions
  • A physical therapist teaches exercises that will be an integral part of their recovery process
  • Educational materials about their specific joint replacement procedure

After surgery is scheduled, individuals will be contacted by the Joint Venture program coordinator to schedule a preoperative educational class.

For more information about joint replacement surgery, call our Joint Venture program coordinator at (850) 729-9391.

Orthopedic rehabilitation

At Twin Cities Hospital, we offer physical therapy from specialists who are experienced with helping patients recover from orthopedic surgery.

If a patient requires more intensive rehabilitation, we offer the specialized rehabilitation services of our affiliated providers at the Rehabilitation Institute of Northwest Florida. This group provides individualized rehabilitation plans to help patients achieve their full potential through physical, occupational and recreational therapies.
